Step 01

Proactive fire prevention & monitoring

At Vision Sécurité, we take fire surveillance and fire prevention seriously. Having worked alongside local fire departments, we understand the critical importance of early detection and proactive safety measures. By embedding strict fire safety protocols into our in-house employee manual, we ensure that every agent is fully equipped to handle potential fire risks, respond to emergencies, and protect lives and property. Our dedication to prevention and quick action makes us a trusted partner for businesses, residential complexes, and event organizers seeking reliable fire safety solutions.

Step 02

Regulatory compliance & professional response

Our agents receive specialized fire surveillance training, preparing them to identify hazards, monitor high-risk areas, and take immediate action when necessary. From routine patrols in warehouses and construction sites to overseeing fire watch duties in commercial or residential buildings, we provide flexible solutions tailored to each client’s environment. Our services are fully aligned with Quebec fire codes and building safety regulations, ensuring not only protection but also compliance with provincial standards. With visible deterrence measures—uniformed guards, marked vehicles, and strategic patrol routes—we reinforce safety while giving clients confidence that they are meeting regulatory requirements.

Step 03

Our fire-watch protocol

Every fire watch Vision Security deploys runs on a five-stage protocol aligned with NFPA 601, the Quebec Building Code, the Ontario Fire Code and the AHJ's specific written order. (1) Intake & trigger confirmation — we log the reason (sprinkler impairment, alarm-panel outage, hot-works permit, post-fire standby, vacant building) and the required patrol cadence (15, 30 or 60 minutes). (2) Site walkdown — the supervisor maps every watch zone, every floor, every stairwell, every extinguisher and standpipe, and confirms primary and secondary egress. (3) Round execution — each loop is walked on-cadence, not when convenient: every floor, every unit accessible, every mechanical room and every hot-works area checked for smoke, heat, sparks, blocked exits and panel status, with timestamp + photo logged at each station. (4) Immediate action — if a hazard is identified the guard initiates evacuation, calls 9-1-1, uses extinguishers within the one-extinguisher rule and alerts the property manager. (5) Shift closeout — a timestamped, photo-supported log is delivered to the client and forwarded to insurer / AHJ in the format they require.

Step 04

When you need a fire watch — same-day emergency deployment

Fire watch is almost always ordered under pressure — by a fire marshal, by an insurer, or by a property manager who just got a failure report. Vision Security is built to respond in hours, not days. Common triggers: impaired or offline sprinkler systems, fire-alarm panels out of service, standpipe or fire-pump failures, hot-works operations (welding, cutting, grinding, roofing torches), post-fire re-occupancy standby, vacant or at-risk buildings, tenant-improvement construction, temporary code-compliance gaps and AHJ-mandated watches. Our dispatch desk answers 24/7; a licensed fire-watch guard is typically on site inside 2–4 hours in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa, with a documented patrol plan ready for your insurer and local fire service before the first round is walked.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A certified fire watch is typically required whenever a fire-alarm, sprinkler or standpipe system is out of service, during hot-works operations (welding, cutting, grinding), and often after a fire incident while life-safety systems are being restored. Your fire marshal, insurer or fire-protection contractor will specify the exact trigger.
