Distribution Centre, Cross-Dock & 3PL Security

Vision Security covers high-volume DCs, cross-docks and 3PL yards across Ontario and Quebec — gatehouse management, dock-door supervision, yard patrol and cargo-theft prevention on heavy-equipment sites. Operations are designed around AEO/PIP and C-TPAT-style audit requirements without slowing carrier throughput.

Logistics-environment risks we cover

  • Cargo theft & diversion

High-value SKU drops, trailer swap-outs and inside-job diversion — mitigated with seal verification, dock-door coverage and randomized audit walks.

  • Gatehouse throughput vs. security

Driver check-in, seal verification, BOL verification and trailer dispatch without creating back-ups on the access road.

  • Yard & trailer inventory integrity

Live yard counts, drop-lot checks, seal breakage reports and reconciliation with WMS/YMS data at shift change.

  • Employee access & theft watch

Pick-line monitoring, bag-check enforcement (per employment-agreement and union rules), and investigation-grade incident reports.

  • Dock-door operational safety

Pedestrian/forklift separation, loading-accident reporting, cold-chain dock integrity and after-hours dock closure verification.

Our logistics protocols

Gatehouse SOPs

Driver ID + BOL + seal check, trailer-number match, visitor escort list, and overheight/oversize refusal procedures documented in a site playbook.

Yard & trailer audits

Shift-open and shift-close yard counts photographed and logged; seal-breakage photos uploaded to the client's incident portal within 15 minutes.

Dock-door supervision

Guard-supervised open/close cycles during peak hours; after-hours dock-door alarm response with 10-minute SLA from dispatch.

Cargo-theft response

Immediate lock-down of affected dock line, preservation of CCTV/DVR evidence, liaison with the carrier's risk team and local police reporting.

Bag-check & pick-line watch

Compliant bag-check stations at employee egress, discreet pick-line floor walks, and union-aware incident documentation.

Emergency & fire watch

Sprinkler-impaired fire watch, racking-collapse response, forklift-incident first-aid scene control and bilingual evacuation.

Standards & frameworks we align to

  • Ontario PSISA 2005 (licence #30000230) / Quebec BSP (licence GAR 20062877)
  • Audit-ready documentation for C-TPAT, PIP and AEO supply-chain-security programs
  • WSIB (ON) / CNESST (QC) incident reporting support
  • MTO (ON) and MTQ (QC) roadside and yard traffic-control protocols
  • NFPA 601 — Standard for Security Services in Fire Loss Prevention (fire watch)

FAQ

Can your guards support a C-TPAT or PIP audit?

Yes. Our standard gatehouse SOPs, visitor logs, seal-verification records and CCTV retention practices are designed to produce the documentation trail auditors expect for C-TPAT (US), PIP (CBSA) and AEO supply-chain-security programs.

Do you run 24/7 at a DC?

Yes. Continuous guard coverage is our default for DC and 3PL clients, with relief dispatch inside our standard response window if a scheduled guard is unavailable.

Can you handle both gatehouse and internal pick-line floor walks?

Yes. We staff gatehouse and in-building roles separately so neither compromises the other, with handover reports between posts at every shift.

What does your cargo-theft response look like?

Immediate dock-line lockdown, CCTV/DVR evidence preservation (no overwrite), incident report to the client's risk team within 60 minutes, and local police liaison if requested.

Are your yard patrol vehicles GPS-tracked?

Yes. Every mobile-patrol unit is GPS-tracked with NFC checkpoint tags on the yard perimeter so the client receives a time-stamped audit trail per patrol.

Let's scope your sector deployment

Send us your scope and we'll reply with a sector-specific staffing plan backed by our PSISA and BSP licensing and $5M general liability coverage.
