Why Toronto businesses need real security

Executive protection in Toronto sits one tier above standard close protection. The clients are public-company CEOs, board members, founders, family-office principals and senior government figures whose exposure is sustained rather than situational. The work involves real risk assessment, real advance work on venues and routes, real secure ground transport and a documented protocol for everything from morning departure to evening hotel arrival. Vision Security operates a dedicated EP track for these mandates, separate from our general close protection work.

Every EP officer we deploy in Toronto holds an active PSISA security guard licence, has been individually screened beyond our standard intake, and is selected based on language, vehicle proficiency, advance-work background and prior EP experience. Senior EP details are managed by a named operations lead who runs advance work, coordinates with corporate security, legal and HR teams, and produces post-mandate documentation suitable for board reporting.

Typical EP engagements include: ongoing protection of a CEO operating from Toronto, multi-day visits by international principals, board-meeting and AGM protection, public appearances under media exposure, sensitive personnel actions (terminations, restructurings) requiring on-site EP for the executive, and post-threat protective intelligence + EP packages.

What's included

Sustained CEO/principal protection

Day-to-day EP coverage of an executive operating in Toronto — residence, transport, office, meetings and events on a continuing basis.

Secure ground transport

EP-trained drivers and unmarked vehicles for executive transport across the GTA — coordinated with airport, hotel and venue arrival protocols.

Standing-post or close-coverage EP at executive residences — coordinated with our private security service.

Board meeting & AGM protection

EP details for board meetings, AGMs, investor days and shareholder events where principal exposure is heightened.

Public appearance protection

Licensing & compliance

Every EP officer Vision Security deploys in Toronto holds an active PSISA security guard licence. Senior EP officers additionally hold formal close protection training credentials from recognized providers. Vision Security holds the corporate PSISA agency licence. Where firearms or other specialty permits are required, we coordinate with appropriately licensed partners under documented protocols.

Insurance & trust

Vision Security carries $5,000,000 commercial general liability and full WSIB coverage in Ontario. Higher liability limits and named-additional-insured endorsements naming corporate employers, principals or counsel are available on request.

Emergency availability

Response time: Interim EP within hours, sustained EP plan within 24 hours, advance work scaled to event timeline

When EP needs arise suddenly — post-threat, post-incident, urgent travel, sensitive personnel actions — our dispatch can place interim EP coverage within hours and a full sustained EP plan within 24 hours. We coordinate directly with corporate security, legal counsel and HR teams as required.

Frequently asked questions

The risk of hiring the cheapest security agency

When a bid comes in well below market, the savings are usually being generated somewhere illegitimate. The most common shortcuts:

  • Unlicensed guards. Officers without active provincial licences working under another guard's name. If anything goes wrong on site, the legal liability lands on the client.
  • Insurance gaps. COIs that look real but expire mid-contract, or commercial general liability limits well below what a prudent property owner would accept.
  • No supervision. No site visits, no log reviews, no named supervisor. Officers go ungoverned and post orders quietly stop being followed.
  • Cash-only payroll. Officers paid under-the-table without WSIB or CNESST coverage — illegal and a direct liability transfer to the client if an officer is injured.
  • National call-centre dispatch. Overnight calls go to a generic answering service that just takes a message. By the time anyone responds, the situation has escalated.

Ask any agency for: agency licence number, $5M COI naming you, training records, supervisor schedule and a 24/7 dispatch number that rings to a real person. If they can't produce all five, walk away.
