Why Toronto businesses need real security

Business security in Toronto has to fit the business it's protecting. A 12-person law firm in Yorkville needs something different from a 400-person tech office in Liberty Village, and both need something different from a Class-A REIT tower. Generic guard services that price every contract the same way miss the actual operating reality of most Toronto businesses — which is why our business security programs start with a real conversation about your space, your hours, your people and what's actually at risk.

Vision Security delivers business security across Toronto and the GTA for offices, professional firms, workplaces, light industrial sites and small-to-mid-market businesses. We staff after-hours coverage for downtown firms, daytime concierge in mid-rise office buildings, terminations and difficult HR situations, after-hours alarm response, and rotating mobile-patrol coverage for businesses that don't need a full-time guard. Every officer is PSISA-licensed and trained on the specific business — its visitor patterns, IT-sensitive areas and after-hours protocols.

Most prospects come to us because their existing provider treats their site like every other site. Our model is the opposite — a named account manager, a small named officer team, post orders written specifically for your business, weekly reporting, and a real human who answers when you call. That's what business security should look like, regardless of contract size.

What's included

After-hours office security

Termination & HR support

Discreet PSISA-licensed officers supporting sensitive HR moments — terminations, suspensions, post-incident return — coordinated with HR and legal counsel.

Rotating marked-vehicle patrols for businesses that don't need a full-time guard — multiple visits per night with GPS-verified reporting and after-hours alarm response.

Licensing & compliance

Every officer Vision Security deploys for business security mandates in Toronto holds an active PSISA security guard licence. Vision Security holds the corporate PSISA agency licence. Officers handling termination support, IP-protection or HR-related coverage are additionally trained on documentation standards that hold up in employment-law proceedings.

Insurance & trust

Vision Security carries $5,000,000 commercial general liability and full WSIB coverage in Ontario. Certificates naming your business are issued within one business day. We can also be added as additional insured on the building's policy on request.

Emergency availability

Response time: Same-day standup for terminations, alarm responses within 15–25 minutes in central Toronto

Most business security incidents are not pre-planned. When you need same-day standup for a difficult termination, post-break-in coverage, fire-watch following an event or after-hours emergency, our 24/7 GTA dispatch handles the call.

Frequently asked questions

The risk of hiring the cheapest security agency

When a bid comes in well below market, the savings are usually being generated somewhere illegitimate. The most common shortcuts:

  • Unlicensed guards. Officers without active provincial licences working under another guard's name. If anything goes wrong on site, the legal liability lands on the client.
  • Insurance gaps. COIs that look real but expire mid-contract, or commercial general liability limits well below what a prudent property owner would accept.
  • No supervision. No site visits, no log reviews, no named supervisor. Officers go ungoverned and post orders quietly stop being followed.
  • Cash-only payroll. Officers paid under-the-table without WSIB or CNESST coverage — illegal and a direct liability transfer to the client if an officer is injured.
  • National call-centre dispatch. Overnight calls go to a generic answering service that just takes a message. By the time anyone responds, the situation has escalated.

Ask any agency for: agency licence number, $5M COI naming you, training records, supervisor schedule and a 24/7 dispatch number that rings to a real person. If they can't produce all five, walk away.
